What you do with light is a balm to the soul. After a long day of teaching, finding this has made me so happy.

Take care,

Barbara

Thanks Vic - it helps that the canal is so still. I hate painting "moving" water!

Interesting shapes and abstract quality to the composition. Lovely piece!

Thanks Diana, I enjoy pushing the abstract shapes in these small scenes if I can.

These old mill town paintings with the light are stunning, they remind me of my RI home! I have family from England, makes me wonder if my family settled in our small mill town, because it reminded them of home. What a blessing to have a view of these and the fields when painting.

Kim, that's interesting. I didn't realise Rhode Island (that is the RI, right?) had small mill towns. I wondered why I was always drawn to New England when I did American Studies at university. Now I know! Yes, your family must have felt at home. We are lucky to have both where we live, some of the old buildings and architecture and stunning countryside nearby. Thanks for visiting.
