Earth fold

Oil on wood 8" x 7.5"

I have painted this scene before but was up there again yesterday to see this wonderful landscape. Again it was the abstract shapes which pulled me in but I found the more I worked on it the more it was being transformed into a more "literal" expression in my mind so I had to stop. I noticed also how sexy the hills are, very womanly with their folds and curves. Maybe that's why we talk about "Mother earth".

Hi Sheila,

I remember as a teenager studying the romantic poets, going to a hilly park, and feeling like I was in an Earth fold. Lovely title and painting.

Take care,

Barbara
