Sheep kind of "group together" - you don't see them dotted about much individually - unless it's that these are northern sheep and like a good chin wag. And it was surprising the number of 'triangles' they made, which was particularly helpful to me. It's funny how the colours of your own landscape really do affect the colours you mix on your palette. I love this! When I was travelling this last week, this is exactly how I learned to identify animals far away from the highway in the hills. Little smudges of color setting them apart from the landscape. Masterfully done young lady!!!! I wanna do this kind of painting!

Hi Sheila - they often look like small wooden toy farm animals don't they when you see them from a distance - just as if you could pick one up and plonk it down somewhere else. My kids used to love playing at farms.

Hey Rob, well by now you must be even more of an expert on sheep than I am. I think your idea is best because they wander about all the time anyway!

Thank you Joan. Yes, sometimes I am deliberately aiming to cut back on too much contrast. I am hoping it gives more atmosphere.
